There are ebbs and flows in the real estate market, like there are in other businesses. Late spring and summer are, typically, the busiest as families move to get the kids in place for the next school year. In geographic areas, the selling seasons are driven by the weather.

Regardless of where you live, homes are being bought and sold every month as those events causing people to buy and sell are always happening.

But is there a BEST time to sell your home? Studies suggest that, yes, there is.

In a study done by Zillow, in 20 out of 25 market areas, homes listed between May 1st and May 15th tend to sell 9 days faster and 1% over the listing price. Where wasn't that true?

In the Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim metro area, the best time is April 16-30, with homes selling 15 days faster AND at a premium averaging $5600. Wow! Not all results will be the same, of course, but the study gives a good indication of what's likely with a good Realtor and the right price for the market.
